For many years, the Knights of Columbus St. Padre Pio Council 13443 have been serving our parish and local community here in Kleinburg. We are a fraternity of Catholic men who share a commitment to our faith and to one another. You’ll find our members volunteering at parish events, organizing fundraisers, lending a hand in times of need, and building strong bonds of brotherhood rooted in our Catholic values. Whether it’s helping families facing financial hardship, supporting our seminarians, or simply being there when a fellow parishioner needs assistance, we believe that faith is best lived in action alongside other men who share our commitment to Christ and His Church.
The Knights of Columbus were founded in 1882 by Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut. What began as a small group of men dedicated to faith, charity, and family has grown into a global Catholic organization with over 2 million members worldwide. From the beginning, the Order has stood on four timeless principles: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. Our council carries that same mission forward today. These principles aren’t just words on paper for us. They guide how we serve our parish, support each other’s families, and contribute to the broader Kleinburg community. When you join our council, you become part of a brotherhood that has been making a real difference in Catholic men’s lives for over 140 years
When Jesus called His disciples, He told them He would make them “fishers of men.” That same call still echoes today. Our council is committed to not only serving our parish but also inviting other men to join us. We know that the stronger our brotherhood, the more good we can accomplish. Each new Knight brings fresh energy, ideas, and talents that help us expand our efforts and deepen our impact in the community. We’re looking for dedicated men of faith in our parish who want to step forward and be part of something greater. By joining us, you’ll be putting your faith into action, building lasting friendships with fellow Catholic men, and helping shape the spiritual and community life of St. Padre Pio Parish. This isn’t just about adding numbers to our roster, it’s about strengthening the bonds of Catholic brotherhood and multiplying our ability to serve Christ through service to others.
We support initiatives both here at home and abroad, including the Sara Elizabeth Centre, the Philippines Backpack Mission, and 360 Kids Human Trafficking Awareness programs. Our charitable work extends beyond financial donations to hands-on involvement, connecting our members with causes that make a real difference in people’s lives. Whether we’re supporting vulnerable women and children locally or providing essential supplies to communities overseas, our charity work reflects our commitment to putting Catholic social teaching into practice.
Through our Christmas Panettone sales, we’re able to provide warm coats for children who need them most during the winter months. This annual tradition combines our Italian heritage with practical charity, as parishioners enjoy authentic panettone while helping us ensure that no child in our community goes without proper winter clothing. It’s a perfect example of how we turn simple parish activities into meaningful opportunities to serve those in need.
A private event just for our members, this gathering is more than just a meal. It’s a time for food, fellowship, and celebrating the brotherhood that makes our council strong. These moments of genuine connection away from meetings and service projects help forge the deep friendships that sustain our work throughout the year. It’s where new members truly become part of the Knights family and where longtime brothers strengthen the bonds that make everything else possible
We’ve donated essential equipment like projectors for parish use, and our members actively participate in every aspect of parish life. From building and moving set pieces to taking on acting roles in the Passion Play, our Knights are always ready to serve wherever we’re needed. You’ll find us setting up for events, helping with maintenance projects, supporting youth programs, and taking on whatever tasks help strengthen our parish community. We believe that a strong parish creates a strong foundation for everything else we do in the wider community.
